EXT. BACKYARD (MONTAGE)

TODD walks towards the DOGS with a sad face. While he walks towards the DOGS the bags in his hands change, and with every change and every BAG he turns upside-down his face becomes colder and more emotionless.

I hope you get this. I want him to walk say 20 times towards the dogs, but all shot in one time. You've seen it alot in films, but i'm not sure whether this comes of clear or not.

I do not know what you are envisioning however the effect might go something like this.

You will need a VCR or such with a jog and shuttle knob that allows you to advance or retard one frame at a time.

If you tape the individual, say walking tward the camera. Have him do this two or three times with lead in and out space between the shots.
Make the walk longer than you would think needed because you will be disceting the shot.

You will probabally only use one of the cuts but you want a choice.

Go to the still shot menu of your editing software and set it to manual.

Begin playing the tape (you may need to play it at regulair speed for a few seconds to let your software catch up)

Set the VCR to Jog mode and advance the tape 3 frames.

Take 2 still pictures with your software
